End up dreaming instead of sleeping.

Heat flushed under Chervilpaw’s fur. She doubted Ryetail and Aspenleaf had to resort to crude demonstrations to force things into her siblings’ thick skulls. The breeze came brushing over her back and Echofrost was right; before she hadn’t been able to catch so much as a whiff but now with the positions reversed she caught a nose full.
“Always approach with the wind. Instincts are good.” She said under her breath. “Rely on them. Instincts are dangerous.”
Wait… Her eyes shot open and a note of panic crept into her voice. “What do you mean by that? Instincts are good but they’re dangerous? How… What do you mean?”

We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good one.

( I don't know whether to roleplay her here as deputy or leader ^^' )
Echofrost's ears pinned back slightly as she registered the overwhelmed tone in her apprentice's voice. Mentioning so many different subjects during the first lesson hadn't been such a good idea. "Well," She began, feeling rather hesitant. "They are good when you hunt. Often, many movements will come naturally. After all, capturing prey is a regular part of our existence, and always has been." She forced the beginnings of doubt away. While she hated the thought that she was teaching Chervilpaw poorly, she knew she had to keep a face of confidence; Chervilpaw was nervous enough as it was. "Also, if you encountered a stronger creature, such as a badger, your instincts would urge you to run away."
"In comparison," She explained, "if there were a fire, your instincts would tell you to flee wherever you can. This can be dnagerous, for not only would you be leaving weaker clanmates behind, but you risk trapping yourself in your thoughtlessness." She sighed slightly. That wasn't simplified at all. "That's the best way I can explain it."

(If I were you I would continue all threads she’s already involved in as Echofrost but if she joins any new threads do so as Echostar)
Well?! A flash of anger coursed through Chervilpaw. Echofrost was the deputy, she was supposed to know how all these things worked. Was Chervilpaw just some feeble attempt at rectifying the deputy-must-have-mentored-an-apprentice rule? Still she found herself drawing in the words; Echofrost was the only mentor she had.
As Echofrost’s words gained certainty Chervilpaw’s doubts melted away. It wasn’t all so bad when it was all laid out like that. Let what comes naturally come naturally and every cat knew to run away from a badger.
“That doesn’t seem so confusing and I’m sure it will come naturally with time.” It didn’t seem like switching from instinct to logic was something that could be easily practiced but she had to have some faith in her mentor

( Alright )
( Ugh. If you don't mind, I think I need a break from this thread for a little while. I feel like I can't keep my own character in character... )
