Golden yellow eyes scanned the camp as a she-cat emerged from the warriors den. The warrior's gaze fixed on the fresh kill pile hungrily. No I shouldn't. Kits and elders should eat before me. The she-cat let out a purr as sunlight soaked her cinamon tabby pelt. The warm pleasant feeling made her purr. Her name was Honeyleaf, named after her honey coloured pelt. The tabby scanned the camp again, hoping to find some cats to chat to or even hunt together. Honeyleaf's golden yellow locked on the camp exit. Oh someone please send me on a patrol or make me do something. The camp is so boring. The she-cat thought but then sighed. "Hello" she meowed hoping that someone might answer her

Quietkit slid out of the nursery silently, as quiet as a shadow. She slipped along the edges of the camp to the fresh-kill pile. She wanted to hurry and collect for herself something to eat before any cat talked to her. She hated other cats' loud noises and their carelessness to be quiet. Her head lifted gingerly at the sound of another voice. Her ears flattened against her head angrily and she peeled back her lips as if to hiss but no sound came out. She couldn't even go one second without being disturbed by the loudness of other cats. She slid back into her shadows, paws barely making a whisper as she crept closer to the other cat. She slipped in from behind, her fur brushing Honeyleaf's gently to announce her presence. Quietkit was aware how some cat didn't like her sneaking up on them. Besides it was also her way of saying hello since she was mute and couldn't speak.

The warrior watched as a kitten slid out of the nursery. Her golden yellow gaze locked on the kit and smiled a bit before turning away to leave the young one alone. Honeyleaf felt fur brushing against her. She realized that it was the kitten. Why isn't she talking? The tabby wondered. Honeyleaf thought about it. Poor thing she's probably mute. Honeyleaf looked at the kitten. Maybe I should ask her if she wanted to play a game?
"Would you like you play a small game" the cinnamon tabby asked her golden yellow eyes fixed on the mute kitten

Quietkit stopped in mid step, shocked. No one ever wanted to play a game with her, certainly none of the other kits. She always learned how to play with herself and make her own games. She considered saying no to the offer, it would feel too strange but then thought better of it. She nodded her head in acceptance to the offer and then look to Honeyleaf to direct the game, she didn't know any normal games that kits usually played.

A smile spread across the she-cats face. "Ok so were going to play a game called mossball" Honeyleaf meowed. She wanted to start of with an easier game for the young kit. Honeyleaf knew that the game 'warriors' was a bit more entertaining but it would be a bit too rough for the kitten at this age. "This game is quite simple. You have to roll the mossball to each other and try to catch or stop it from rolling somehow." The cinamon tabby explained to the kit. "If you think this game is a bit boring. We can play something more fun" Honeyleaf added. Her golden yellow eyes scanned the camp for any sign of moss that they could roll into a mossball.

Quietkit look around as well and instantly spotted moss. The game seemed easy enough; especially because she hat watched with jealous eyes other kits playing it. Quietkit used her claws to tear it from the earth. She then squished it together and rolled it into a ball. She quickly turned round to face Honeyleaf and batted the ball to her. It rolled quickly across the floor heading straight towards the she-cat while Quietkit waited for the ball to be passed back to herself.

I guess she wants to play the game. She thought happily. Honeyleaf stopped the ball of moss with her paw, sinking her claws into it. The cinamon tabby flicked the mossball back over to the kitten with her paw. "Your good at this game" Honeyleaf praised her. The cinamon tabby loved playing this game as a kit with other kits. She thought it helped to make her skills better. Honeyleaf waited for the kitten to role the mossball back at her.
It's so great to see young life again. Honeyleaf thought

Quietkit easily swatted back the mossball. She didn't realize this game was this easy. It always looked harder when the other kits did it. She would usually play lonesome game and test her skill, that would usually involve climbing to extreme height and going even higher. She watched as the ball did a smooth roll back to Honeyleaf and she let her eyes wander. She locked on to a tree that was the tallest in camp and looked with longing at the highest branches. She had tried climbing there earlier in her life but the queens had stopped her before she had gotten too far.

It was quite fun playing with a kit. It reminded Honeyleaf of her early kithood, playing with siblings, and friends. The cinamon tabby sighed, Kithood felt like it was so long ago. Honeyleaf eyes locked on thre mossball. She put her paw on it from stopping it from rolling away. The cinamon tabby then batted the mossball towards the kitten hoping she would catch it
Honeyleaf waited for the young cat to bat the ball back towards her. "Do you want to keep playing this game or not?" The cinamon tabby asked. Honeyleaf knew that she was not going to get a spoken answer, but maybe the kitten would tell her with movements.

Cherrypaw walked into the camp and saw the two cats playing. She scoffed. A warrior shouldn't play with kits.

Quietkit looked back at the mossball and rolled it under her paw thoughtfully. She was thankful for Honeyleaf's effort in playing with her, but this game was too easy. She had been raised separate from the other kits, isolated because of her condition. Because of that she had grown up tougher, not used to easy kit games but playing by herself in ways that would most likely frighten other kits. But how could she tell Honeyleaf this game was too easy? Quietkit sighed inwardly, she hated that she couldn't talk. It was frustrating at times. She decided to cock her head to the side like she would do when she had a question. She hoped Honeyleaf would get that Quietkit was asking if there were any other new games she could try.

It seemed like the kitten wanted play a differnt game. Honeyleaf thought for a second. What game should we play? "There's a game called warriors where you fight imaginary warriors. We don't have to play that, it's more of a rough game. There's also feather throw where one of us throw a feather into the air and other has to catch it. I don't have much ideas since I feel that kithood was so long ago" she meowed
Her golden gaze then fixed on Cherrypaw her eyes narrowing. But then she switched her gaze back onto the kit. "So which one do you want to play?"

Quietkit tapped her paw once against the ground to indicate she like the first thing Honeyleaf had said: warriors. It sounded exciting and fun, something complicated and hard. She then sat down and waited to for Honeyleaf to explain how to play the game and its rules.

Honeyleaf gave the kitten a small, friendly smile before speaking. "Warriors is a game where one of us is a leader the other is the deputy" she explained. "We will fight imaginary warriors that go across a pretend border" The cinamon tabby meowed again. "If you want you can be leader. Quietkit is your name right?" Honeyleaf guessed
"I'll just be Honeyleaf the deputy and you can be Quietstar the leader" she meowed. "Quietstar is a pretty name for you"

Quietkit nodded her head, her way of saying thank you for the compliment. She liked the name Quietstar. Plus she would make a great leader, no cat would hear her coming. She crouched back, looking as if ready for battle. It was her equivalent to growling. She peeled back her lips to show sharp fangs in the way of play. She lunged forward and batted at the air playfully, leaping high with her strong, powerful hind legs, well they were strong for a kit her age. She looked up to Honeyleaf for acceptance, not sure she did it correctly.
