Personality: Raven is a curious cat at heart, he loves to explore, which takes him far away from his Two-legs home at times. Quiet and thoughtful, Raven likes to hear what others say before he puts in his two cents. A dreamer at heart, he loves to imagine fanciful things, and tends to see the world through a rose-hued lens. Raven is not a push-over though, far from it, he is stubborn and hates being pushed around. He likes to make up his mind about things, not be told what to think. Although, sometimes his cool collecting demeanor can be quite cruel and harsh, as he tells things as he sees them. Because he listens so much, cats trust him and so he usually knows the words that will cut the deepest.
Trait List: Curious, Quiet, Thoughtful, Calm, Adventurous, Calculating, Truthful, a Fighter (in spirit mostly, that is)
Likes: Water, strange, but true. Night, the bright stars have kept Raven company for some time. Adventuring, exploring new areas unknown to him. Birds, creatures on wing have always captured a part of Ravens soul.
Dislikes: Crowds, too many bodies and he gets claustrophobic. Moles, the taste has never appealed to him. Pain, who likes it anyways? Gossip, he's never seen the point in that, and refrains from getting caught up in those types of conversations.
Fears: Perhaps what Raven fears the most is not what you might think, such a calm steady cat surely wouldn't have any irrational fears, no? And yet, Raven is uncommonly fearful of a few things, but perhaps the most is, well, other cats. This fear did not come out of nowhere, and yet, perhaps this isn't the best place to tell that story. To mention a few other things that Raven fears are, fish, bees (including hornets, wasps, and all other things that sting), fire, and being completely alone. Wait you say? Alone? But isn't he afraid of other cats? All in due time, all in due time.
Skills: Light footed, exceptional climber, witty
Disadvantages: He's small, so he really doesn't pack much of a punch, surprise and wit are his tools.
Future: Unknown
Fur Coloring/Markings: Raven, true to his name, is a deep ebony black. His coat isn't shiny, but has the consistency of a rex rabbits coat, though much more durable. The only marking he bears is a small spattering of white fur on his chest.
Fur Length: Short, again, about the same length, maybe a little longer, than a rex rabbits coat.
Eye Color: Raven's eyes are a strange blue-grey color, and seem to be swirling like the water in a slow creek at all times.
Body Size: Raven is a small cat, his lithe body is long and strong. When he is full-grown he won't be much bigger than a normal sized apprentice.
Short description: Petite black tom with small white mark on chest and blue-grey eyes.
History:
How it Began
----
Raven was born in a barn. Fresh hay was the first thing felt and smelt. He had six other siblings, all born before him, all much bigger than him. Raven was the seventh, and he was the runt. Truth be told, his mother certainly didn't think he would live, as scrawny and tiny as he was. Live he did, although he had a tough time of it.
There in that barn Raven grew up the hard way, bullied and pushed about by his siblings, Raven grew frightened and fearful around them. He spent most his time hiding in some far off corner of the barn, and his mother would eventually come looking for him. This was where Raven got some of his fear of other cats, but here he also learned that if you could out wit them, you always won.
And so, those first few weeks in Raven's life were hard, he despised being alone, yet there was nothing he could do about it really. But soon, he would learn what being truly alone was like.
The farmer had come around before, so had the children, so Raven was used to them. He especially liked the children, and often came out of hiding to weave in and out of their two funny legs. He liked them because no one would dare mess with him when they were around, it was the one moment that he could be out in the open and not looking constantly over his shoulder. But this day was different, just the farmer came, and he carried with him a brown box. Raven stayed hid in the corner, and watched as one by one, each of his siblings was lifted into that brown box. And with all Raven's siblings under one arm, the farmer turned and left, Raven never saw them again.
A Darkness Falls
----
Raven was enjoying his new life without fear of torment lurking around every corner. He had his mother all to himself and the days were warm and joyful. Until, one day. Raven's mother was not a young cat, in fact, she was old. So old that Raven and his siblings were most likely the last litter she was able to have. And as it turned out they were her last litter.
Raven had noticed his mother had been getting slower, but he hadn't thought much of it, after all, he was just a little kitten. But one day, he couldn't find her. He searched all her usual napping spots and found not a trace of her. Panicked, he raced around the barn towards the woods, screaming for her. He found her, breathing her last, underneath a willow, crying pitifully, he lay down next to her and fell asleep.
He woke to the sound of unfamiliar voices, a rogue band of cats had stumbled across him and his mother. The leered over Raven, snickering and laughing at his pitiful state. They left his lying by his mother, not so bloody, but very, very bruised. Another escapade to further his fear of other cats.
It was the children who found him and his mother eventually, long after his mother's soul departed. They took him and bundled him up, carrying him with care, and brought him to live with them.
Fresh Start
----
There, in the children's care, Raven flourished and grew, exploring to his heart's content. There he was happy, but he was also alone. No other cats lived in the neighboring houses, and despite of his fear, Raven yearned for company.
And this, this is where we leave off, for we have caught up to Ravens present and will journey along with him into his future...
