CRASH!
Tumbling through the grass surrounding the area was Crimsonpaw, soon to be Crimson-awesome-warrior-ending! Really, the young tom's mind wasn't exactly on his warrior ceremony. He wasn't even sure when it would happen, he just knew that he would soon be next in line for a name!
At the moment, his mind was focused on how bored he was. He attempted to hunt, and had gotten a mouse before growing bored of that particular activity. Logically, he turned to practicing fighting stances. One could never be too sure when a sneaky RoseClanner would attempt to cross the border, right?
However, he apparently still wasn't too used to his paws (although he was definitely getting better as he grew). Crimsonpaw had tripped over himself in an attempt to do some sort of cool tackle, but it failed due to the fact that he had no opponent.
"Geez, Crimsonpaw...!"
Crimsonpaw grinned up at his cousin, whom was currently shaking his head and turning away from him after realizing that it was just Crimsonpaw making all the noise. The apprentice scrambled to his feet. "Hi Pantherstep! What are you doing out here?"
"I was trying to have a quiet, solo hunt," the young warrior said.
"Since that failed, why not have a tumble?" Crimsonpaw pounced on Pantherstep's back, and the pair were soon rolling by the edge of the stream in a mock fight.

Frostflower raised her head as a crashing noise startled the shrew she had been stalking. She narrowed her eyes and stalked through the undergrowth toward the sound until she picked up the familiar scent of her apprentice and Pantherstep. She relaxed slightly and followed the scent until she found the rolling mass of cats. Sitting back to watch the wrestling match, Frostflower couldn't help but wonder how long it would take the pair to notice her if she said nothing.
"Crimsonpaw," Frostflower mewed sternly, "Have you caught anything on this hunt other than Pantherstep? Since you have now scared off everything between here and camp, I should hope you have something to show for it."
The white she-cat shook out her thick pelt and narrowed her eyes at the pair. She wasn't really angry at them. In fact she was quite fond of her apprentice, overeager though he may be. If he could learn to watch his paws a little more carefully and focus a little longer, he would nearly be ready for his final assessment.

It was quite a nice day, indeed, and the soft moss beneath was still moist with rain from previous days. It was not hot out, but it wasn't cold either, and the soft wind was a nice addition.
It may have been even better, had an apprentice not scared off the prey for miles.
Jayleap flicked his ear irritably, standing from his crouch as a squirrel ran up its tree. Who is making all of that noise? He supposed it could be a Roseclanner, but he knew most of them were probably too smart to make such noise if they were traveling the border. The young warrior flicked his tail back and forth as he made his way toward the sound, and as he neared the Mossy Stream, his eyes narrowed. Crimsonpaw. Quite the surprise. In truth, however, Jayleap was quite fond of the apprentice. He was what Jayleap could have been if he'd been raised better.
The warrior came to sit down by Frostflower, curling his tail over his paws. He shook his head slowly. "Roseclan should be scared, eh? With an apprentice like that 'un, they'll be runnin' with their tails between their legs." He muttered to her, speaking so low that only she could hear him.

The scent of an approaching cat drew the attention her attention from her apprentice briefly, as she watched Jayleap come to sit near her. She nodded a polite greeting, and couldn't hold back a low huff of amusement at his comment. Hopefully one day that will be true, Frostflower thought hopefully, with another quick glance at Crimsonpaw and Pantherstep.
"If only," She muttered in reply, glad her tone was lighter than her words, "At least then there would be a good reason for all that racket."
Even if she wasn't angry, this could not go unpunished. Even on a lovely New-Leaf day, prey was precious in a Clan as large as IvyClan. Every bite counts, and with Leaf-Bare so soon past, she would have thought even the young cats would remember that.
