Twigs stuck into Jayleap's fur as he rolled around in his nest, trying to get comfortable. He peeked one eye open, a playful scowl on his face. He still wasn't used to these early mornings, even after moons of clan life. Standing, he stretched, a yawn escaping his muzzle. I suppose it's time I show Fernpaw the territory, he thought to himself, shaking his fur and exiting the warrior's den.
The young deputy squinted as the early morning light nearly blinded him before quickly adjusting. He walked past the freshkill pile, which wasn't too low, and traveled on to the apprentice's den. He stuck his head inside, eyes traveling about, now struggling to adjust to the darkness. "Fernpaw?" He called before recoiling his head and waiting. While she could already be up, he hadn't seen her (though he didn't particularly look around camp), and waited patiently either way.
He tried to think of the places he could take her. Obviously they would travel to the Mossy Grove, but he thought he would probably save that for last. There was always the barn, he thought. Ah, yes. They would go to the barn, and then the Shaded Creek to see the Unclaimed Woods. After that they could check the Roseclan border and round over to the Mossy Grove. He could then show her some basic skills. Training should wait though. He thought. He was happy to have a plan.

It was morning. A long-furred apprentice was rolling in her nest. Her ears pricked up at the sound at her mentor's voice. One eye blinked open. "Why does it have to be so-ooo early!" The light brown tabby complained complained to herself. Fernpaw stood up and quickly groomed her pelt before stepping out of the den. "Morning Jayleap" Fernpaw chirped before circling her mentor. "So what are we doing today. Battle training? Hunting? Cleaning bedding? A tour?" The apprentice looked down at her paws. She was embarrassed."Sorry for being all jumpy. I'm just excited"

Jayleap turned to look at his excitable apprentice, a smile making its way onto his face. "It's alright. I understand that curiosity and wonder." He stood, looking her over. She looked a bit like him, he noticed. They had their differeneces but he noticed she would probably be small like he was, and their pelt colors were similar.
He turned, tail swishing as he walked a few fox-lengths away before turning back. "We're heading out, Fernpaw. Are you ready to see the wonders of Ivyclan territory?" He know beamed with pride, chest puffed and tail swishing slowly.

Fernpaw's yellow eyes gleamed. "Of course" she replied. "I cannot wait!" Fernpaw hoped that she was not being too jumpy. She did not want to annoy her mentor. "So what are we going to explore first?" The long-furred light brown tabby asked her head tilting. Fernpaw began to follow Jayleap her eyes filled with excitement.
The long-furred light brown tabby apprentice waited for her mentor to respond to her questions. Fernpaw stayed silent.
