Fallowstep strode out of camp with a large grin stretched across her maw, quick to find a shady spot underneath a large evergreen to save her pale pelt from the heat of the afternoon sun. She sat a few inches from the tree, curling her long tail over her thin paws, more than half the appendage setting in the plush grass due to its long length as she attempted to wait patiently for her patrol members to join her. Excitement bubbled deep within the warrior's gut, her cheeks starting to ache with how much she was smiling. It wasn't too often that Fallowstep was able to lead her own patrol given her young age and general inexperience, but since most senior warriors were busy with border patrols she was given the chance. Her blue eyes bore into the camps entrance, searching for the familiar pelts of her clanmates. She was told she would be joined by Firecloud, a tom nearly half her size with twice the amount of heart and his spritely apprentice Russetpaw, and surprisingly Flutterpaw. At first Fallowstep was confused as to why another warriors apprentice would be joining the group with their mentor, then a wonderful thought crossed her mind. This may very well be a test to see how she handles an apprentice; To see if she was ready for one of her own.
The very thought made Fallowstep want to leap around in excitement, her eyes shinning from where she sat, not so still, by the tree. Instead she gave her head a little shake, ears flopping around comically as she tried to collect herself. She had to act like a mature warrior if she wanted to be treated like one. With a deep breath she turned her head back to the entrance, a sweet smile plastered to her maw. Her claws dug into the soft ground beneath her absentmindedly, her eyes only straying from the camp to follow the occasional bird call or rustling of wind, mind filling with the idea of hunting in her favorite area with new friends.
