Litter Generator
Link to spreadsheet. It can be downloaded to your computer or used online. Please do not upload elsewhere.
This spreadsheet is a realistic litter generator based on cat genetics. In order to use it you will either need some knowledge of genetics or to refer to the Colours page.
To use simply input the parents' genetic code in the boxes under mother and father and a litter will be generated. If you wish to specify the number of kittens (from 1-5) you can input your desired number into the blue box beside set litter size.
There are a few things you need to follow when inputting the parents' genetic codes in.
1. One allele goes in each box. If the mother was XoXO Aa dd you would put Xo in cell B3, XO in C3, A in D3, a in E3 and so on and so forth. If you put both alleles in one box (for example XoXO in cell B3) the generator will not work.
2. Use Y as the allele for white spotting, N as the allele for no white spotting. The amount of white spotting must be in the H and I cells for each parent. Failure to do this will still generate the genetics correctly but the white spotting will be wrong.
3. Use S as the allele for short hair and L as the allele for long hair. The fur length must go in the J and K cells for each parent. Failure to do this will still generate accurate genetics but the fur length description will be wrong.
Don't know genetics?
You can still use the generator. Refer to the colours page for genetic codes for the parents. When you have the kittens take a screenshot or note them down. You can then use the colours page to find the actual colours of the kittens.
If you are having any issues or would just like to discuss genetics feel free to shoot me a PM.
If you're after all possible kitten combinations rather than a random litter this thread is useful. You can also PM me.
