Ivyclan Camp
The Ivyclan camp is deep in the Mossy Forest. As you approach the camp the trees thin and the undergrowth grows thicker. The camp in a dip in the forest floor with steep walls in a V shape. On the remaining side the decline is shallower and a guard is normally posted here to watch the entrance. The floor of the camp is a mess of ivy and undergrowth. A fallen tree lies over the narrow end of camp, completely submerged in ivy.
Announcements are made standing on top of the log fallen over the narrow end of the camp. Ceremonies are conducted with cats standing a little way up the sloping walls by this log where they can be seen clearly. A cat needs to step carefully so as not to slip half way through their ceremony.
The elders sleep in the sheltered area under this log. In winter it is reinforced with branches to keep the elderly cats from the worst of the cold and wet.
The leader sleeps in a hollow at the base of a tree half way along the camp wall. This vantage point allows the leader a good view of the camp.
Warriors and apprentices sleep in the thickest undergrowth around camp wherever they can find a sheltered space. Senior warriors have claim to a well sheltered place under a thick shrub mid-way into camp with branches so thick it keeps out most of the weather.
The nursery is in an old rabbit warren that was once expanded by a fox. It's cramped and still has a slight scent of fox but it is safe and warm even in winter. The queens need to be careful that kits do not wander into the back of the den where the tunnels are small and partially caved in. The tunnels loop around to the medicine cat den and work their way under much of the camp. The tunnels are too small for most cats, even kits, to navigate.
The medicine cat sleeps in the expanded area that was once the second entrance to the same rabbit warren that houses the nursery. The medicine cat den is of a similar size as the nursery but some of the space is used for storing herbs. Sometimes in bad weather apprentices and warriors will share this space.
