End up dreaming instead of sleeping.

[ Hazelfoot carolion Umbra Few things, firstly I am so sorry for the massive delay in getting this thread up. Secondly I don't actually have any cats in this patrol so forgive the weird opening. Time: Early evening (hour before the ivyclan patrol sets out) Weather: a still, muggy night. Lots of cloud cover. Location: through Roseclan territory, across the stream and up to Moon Trees. Refer to the map for details.] The moon was rising but the sun lingered giving rise to a soft, golden glow playing about the edges of the clouds. The first few stars peeked out between clouds, dim shadows of their usual selves. The air was still and hot as humidity clung to the air until it was almost unbearable. The Roseclan camp was dark and still, almost pleasant compared to the stifling mugginess of the outside air. A small group of cats gathered just inside the camp, waiting. A few cats not on the patrol lingered around, the tang of fear clinging to their pelts. Perhaps tonight would be the night they finally got some answers.

It's better to light a match than to curse the darkness

Hazelfoot emerged from her den into the camp, taking a moment to inhale the scents that were unable to penetrate the thick musk of herbs and her own scent that filled her little corner of the world. Other cats, the freshkill pile, hints of the outside world... It was always new, always different, every time that she came out here. It changed with the seasons, with the movements of other cats, with the variety of prey that was roaming the forests at the time. Every day was a new adventure.
Especially tonight. Tonight was a big night. Oh, she met with her opposite number from Ivyclan frequently enough that it wasn't a particularly remarkable event, but the things going on in the forest at the moment made a difference. Tonight, there was the hope that Starclan might offer her some explanation for what was going on, what would happen next, what they could do about it, why it was happening... There was an endless list of questions, but the thing was that Hazelfoot wasn't entirely certain that she'd get an answer to any of them. The silver tabby sighed. Then she made her way over to the entrance and offered a nod as a general greeting to all those present. This was going to be interesting.
