Name:
Juniperpaw
Gender:
Female
Age: 8 moons
Rank: Warrior
Current allegiance: Roseclan
Personality:
Perfectionistic: Juniperpaw is a dilligent apprentice, aiming for perfection and not settling for anything less. Whether it's cleaning out the dens, tending to the elders or training with her mentor, Juniperpaw will put one hundred percent of her effort into completing a task, and making sure to do it the right way. Some cats may find her dedication to even simple tasks strange or confusing; what does it matter if a moss-bed is slightly off-kilter, when it will just be ruined again anyway? To Juniperpaw, however, the small details in the large picture are everything. If she does something wrong, a mistake that even most apprentices would make anyway, she will either become extremely frustrated or paranoid. What kind of apprentice is she, she thinks, if she cannot excel?
Loyal: If you can somehow convince this apprentice to not only interact with you, but even become friends, you will have an extremely devoted friend. Partially, she'll be thankful for helping her get out of her shell, and from under the thumb of a certain cat. However, a darker aspect of this is that she may also become loyal to a cat simply because she's afraid of what will happen if she rebels (which might be more like 'obedience'.)
Judgmental: Tying into her perfectionism, Juniperpaw gives very harsh opinions of both herself and others around her. She expects all cats to be doing the best, to be their best, and if they're not, then maybe they should consider digging a hole and laying there as prey for some badger. It's not just for this either: she'll judge others for their appearance, their opinions, the way they carry themselves across camp. She's not afraid to deliver a scathing review on those who under-perform, of those who she considers 'weak'.
Sarcastic: Juniperpaw enjoys a good helping of sarcasm, every now and again. It's a way of pointing out other's flaws, poking a bit of fun at both herself and others, without actually calling them useless or stupid. Juniperpaw does have a fair-share of things bottled up. She appreciates cats who can take her somewhat scathing sense of humor without offence.
Blunt: Juniperpaw's bluntness is a mixture of social isolation and her own personal beliefs. Often, she's not even aware of the fact that she's hurting someone's feelings, simply just that she's being honest, giving her pure judgement on a cat or situation. Juniperpaw wouldn't have a problem telling a kit that one of their parents died - it's the truth! Some of this also comes from her own past experience, however, as she tends to believe that if she could survive the isolation and verbal abuse of her childhood, then surely an apprentice can survive being told that their fur looks horrible and mangy today.
Lonely: Juniperpaw feels a great deal of isolation from her clanmates. Although she does her best to avoid it, filling her days with training or fighting, cleaning up after the elders or other menial tasks, sometimes Juniperpaw just can't deny it. She's lonely. When she sees a bunch of cats bundled together, chatting and laughing, she can't help but feel a pang sometimes. Of course, she's only young - it's not like she'll be like this forever right? Maybe she'll break out of her shell and be free, or maybe she'll become so powerful and influential that everyone will have to have to be her friend. But even then, she might still be too abhorrent for most cats to deal with. Maybe she's just awful.
Daydreamer: Juniperpaw is not your stereotypical daydreaming apprentice - not a soft, pretty little thing dreaming about her crush or becoming a leader. Instead, Juniperpaw often daydreams about what it would be like to feel, well, normal. To have friends, to have a family worthwhile having, to be a better cat than she is. She's very cautious about other cats catching her in the act however, and will often save her daydreaming exercises for when everyone is asleep, or out hunting and working.
Appearance: Juniperpaw has an average-sized build, not overly high or short, but rather, long fur which makes her seem larger and meatier than she actually is. Her pelt is bi-colored: mainly a vanilla white around the majority of her body and lower part of her face. The upper half of her face (covering her nose-bridge up to the ears) is grey, with the color somewhat faded around the edge of her eyes. The rest of her pelt has grey-ish spotting over her back and at the tip of her tail. Her eyes are a bright yellow color, often alert and wide.
Short description: A grey and white she-cat with long fur and yellow eyes.
History: Juniperpaw was born into the clan as the only surviving kit of her respective litter. Her father, Maggotstrike, was a fierce and outright bloodthirsty warrior, who had his own agenda and ideas of what his children would be like. When it turned out Juniperkit was the only survivor, Maggostrike only saw this as an opportunity: he would train Juniperkit up, alone, without the interference of siblings or other foolish warriors, to become a strong and independent warrior. Unfortunately, although the idea was innocent enough, the execution was... questionable. Juniperkit wasn't allowed to 'play' - mossball, playfights and even just making friends was strictly monitored, and if Maggotstrike noticed somebody who became close to Juniperkit, causing her to venture off the 'path of greatness', he would have no problem dismantling that friendship. If she was caught slacking, he had no problem in verbally tearing her apart, even threatening violence when no one was around to hear. She was isolated. Her mother didn't exactly help: preferring to turn the other cheek instead of doing something about it. On the few occasions she did try to connect with others, she was often too awkward, not necessarily bullied (since the kits were deathly terrified of her father) but still stigmatized, and she wasn't protected from insults or rumors. Which, she blamed on her father. Juniperkit found herself praying to Starclan for the moons to pass quicker, to be at the age of 6 moons. After all, once it came to her apprentice-ship, his control would lessen, right? Kin can't mentor kin after all, and surely someone would notice if he tried to follow her to her training sessions. Now, at 7 moons old, everything's still somewhat shaky for Juniperpaw. Maggotstrike is still a pest, and apparently she'd spent too much time with him anyway, parts of his awful personality bleeding into her own. The tom really did not think this one through, did he? Juniperpaw continues to persevere. (might revise/change this later)
